Child Care Connections' mission is to continuously identify and respond to the child care needs in our region through education, advocacy and the creation of quality child care choices. Child Care Connections, located in Scarborough, is a public/private partnership that provides services to parents, child care providers, and employers. Child Care Connections is your local Resource Development Center for Cumberland County. Our program includes resources and referral information, provider training, and a variety of consultation services. Since 1984, Child Care Connections has helped many parents find child care by offering information and assistance in choosing and evaluating child care programs. Child Care Connections also administers a subsidy program to help defray the cost of child care for income-eligible parents. In addition, we offer ongoing services, such as technical assistance, training opportunities, and professional development support to new and existing child care providers Child Care Connections assists local area employers to respond to the child care needs of their employees. Our child care resource and information programs help make employees knowledgeable about options regarding the availability of quality, reliable child care in their community. Research indicates that when employees feel confident in their ability to secure the kind of child care they want for their children, employers enjoy the benefits of improved morale, reduced absenteeism, less turnover, and better public relations. |
